Mt Merapi is an impressive vulcano and has been revered for millennia by the Javanese as a sacred peak and it remains a spectacular, tremendous sight no matter how many times you see it as it is truly one of the World’s most beautiful mountains.
Exercursions show you the beautiness of the natural surroundings and why the mountain is a symbolic of life for the Javanese people.

Climbing MERAPI for Sunrise .
Start to pick you up at your Hotel at 10.00 Pm. We drive you to Mt. Merapi. It takes around 2 hours. After arriving in the place named selo village and take rest for thirty minutes to prepare everything for climbing. Starting your climb in the evening from that place , makes it possible to enjoy an incredible sun rise at the top of Merapi.
Before trekking up Merapi , there is an introduction from the guides (they will give you some guidelines for during this trip) your hike up the Merapi can begin. Under very experienced guides you will hike to the top in the dark in around 3 – 4 hours. Hiking in the dark gives you beautiful views from the lights of the villages in the valley. Quickly your attention will be needed for your hike all the way up to the top.
After a hiking up the hardest route path heading for peak in early morning 4.30 am, a stunning view waits. A sunset with volcano backgrounds, beautiful view on the volcano Merbabu on the northern side, and looking down a green valley and hilly mountains.
After a nice rest and snack at the top, you will trek down back to the base camp through the tropical forest of Merapi. Exploring a little bit of the village is possible before transferring you back to Yogyakarta.
