Setumbu Hill is the name of a hill located about 4 km west of Borobudur temple. It is one of the best place to watch the Borobudur sunrise from an altitude of 400 m above sea level. The warmth of the sun in the morning reveals the fog blanket that covers Borobudur Temple and wakes it from its place. While we enjoy the beautiful sunrise at Setumbu we have a cup of coffee or tea to drink. After watching sunrise at Setumbu Hill we continue to visit the wonderful view of Borobudur temple. We have two hours to see Borobudur.

Early morning we drive to the west of Borobudur temple,exactly at Punthuk Setumbu hill for sunrise.
it treks up 15 minutes to the view point to see the spectacular landscape and sunrise come over the Merapi and Merbabu volcano spread over to Borobudur temple as a great background.
